Aileen (“Weiner”) Shirley Webster passed away peacefully with her family by her side on July 13, 2018, at her second home in Winnipeg, MB.

Aileen was born February 16, 1934, in Napinka, MB.  She was the second of 11 children, born to Raymond & Muriel Hutchins.  Aileen was raised, educated and resided in the Napinka area until 1956 when she relocated to Deloraine. In 1960, Aileen married William (Scotty) Webster, son of Horace & Hazel Webster of Deloraine.  They had two children, a daughter, Sandra, and a son, Bill.

Aileen worked as a telephone operator for the Manitoba Telephone System from 1956 to 1968. From 1968 to 1980, Aileen was a busy farmwife and mother, tending to her 2 children, a very large garden, hundreds of chickens, and helping Scotty with their cattle and grain farm.  Aileen returned to work as a housekeeper at Delwynda Court from 1980 to 1994.  Aileen and Scotty moved from the family farm to the town of Deloraine in December 2000, where they resided until their respective passings.

Aileen had many wonderful attributes.  She was good natured, generous and a very kind wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.  She was well known for her sense of humor, her stories, her “Weinerisms” and her delectable butter tarts.  In her later years, she enjoyed traveling with Sandra and Wes, including many trips to London, ON, to spend time with her grandchildren.

Aileen leaves to mourn her passing, daughter Sandra (Wes Baxter) of Winnipeg, son Bill (Allison) and her “little angels” grandchildren Lexi and Ben of London, Ontario, brother Gerald Hutchins of Leduc, AB, sister Audrey Johnson of Ninette, MB, brother Garry Hutchins (Bev) of Calgary, AB, sister Sharon McInnes (Wayne) of Napinka, MB, sister Faye Pearson (Ken) of Edmonton, AB, special friend Art Robillard of Brandon, MB, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and brother and sister-in-laws.

She was predeceased by her father Raymond, mother Muriel (Goodburn), sister Flo, brothers Wallace, Earl, Francis and Stanley, brother-in-law Brian Johnson, brother-in-law Les Hendry, sister-in-law Ina Hutchins and sister-in-law Shirley Hutchins.

Funeral services were held in the Deloraine United Church, July 18, 2018, with Reverend Beth Clark officiating.  The eulogy was delivered by her daughter Sandra and son Bill.  Pallbearers were nephews Blaine and Corey Webster, Darryl Billiaert, Alan Lehman, and friends Randy (“Larry”) Nestibo and Frank Nowak.  Interment took place in the family plot at Del-Win Cemetery.

A very special thank you to Sheryl Billiaert for her many trips to Winnipeg to assist with Mom’s nursing care during her final weeks and days.
