Holding Cherie forever in their hearts are her husband Andy, children Robbie (Neil), Cameron, Rhonda, and Richard, and grandchildren John, Ryan, Madison, and Adriana. Cherie will be missed dearly by her and Andy’s many siblings, Julie (Mel) Wickens , Minnie (Robert) Guilford, Fran (Dan) DeRuyck, Jeff (Kelly-Ann) Parsonage, Jim (Vivian) Melvin, David (Debbie) Melvin, Moira Melvin, Alan (Karen) Melvin, Betty (Kelvin) Melvin-Harder, Don (Lynne) Melvin, and Ron (Trudy) Melvin, brother in law Morris DeRuyck, sister in law Jody Parsonage, and cherished nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her large extended family, close knit community, and long time friends. Cherie was predeceased by her parents Harry & Dorothy Parsonage and Elgin & Helen Melvin, and her siblings Sandy DeRuyck, Lily Gompf, and Harold Parsonage.
While Cherie grew up in a large family and subsequently married into another large family she preferred intimate conversation to large gatherings. She wasn’t one for travel or crowds and didn’t tell many stories, but in various spots tucked around her home were little notes and thank you cards from too many folks to count for kindnesses big and small from every decade of her life. Ask anyone, if a baby was fussing she could calm them in an instant. If you needed someone to listen without judgment she was there. If you wanted a few wise words she could offer those too (but only if you asked).
Cherie asked for nothing in return save some “sweetness and light” and the security of home.
