Clara Major 

June 18 1928 - December 9, 2024

Mom grew up on a farm in Swan Lake, Manitoba. She married Joe Major in 1949
and they farmed in the Glenora area until they retired to Killarney in 1987. On the
farm she tended to a large garden, canned many jars of preserves, and brought
many meals to the field during harvest time. She was a 4-H Leader for many years.
Mom enjoyed growing flowers, and some of her favorites were Roses, Peonies,
Lillies, and Orchids. She was one of Killarney’s seamstresses doing alterations, and
making many bridesmaid’s dresses. Mom was well known for her beautiful
singing voice and playing the piano. She sang the “Ave Maria” at many weddings
and participated in the Christmas Cantata for many years.
The Family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Bayside
Personal Care Home and Homecare for their gentle and caring assistance,
Killarney Funeral Home for their professionalism, and friends, neighbours, and
family members for the outpouring of concern and support.
