Dale McNeil Aitchison was born April 6, 1947 in Deloraine, Manitoba.
He is predeceased by his parents John and Dorothy Aitchison as well as his brothers David and Raymond.
He is survived by his sister Carol and his brother William (a.k.a. Bill), children Angela Aitchison (Jordan
Lavallee) and Micheal Aitchison (Connie) and his grandchildren Madeline, Wade and Bennett, as well as
many other close family members and friends.
He was the 3rd child born to John and Dorothy; the first one of their children to be born in Canada.
Dad spent his younger years working on cars which lead to many years working at Edward’s Sales and
Service as a mechanic. Weekends were spent working on cars of his own in his shop or on projects for
others. He did everything from engine work to paint jobs. His love of being a mechanic was transferred
to his son and will carry on.
He took a lot of pride In his family sharing stories of his children and grandchildren with his close friends.
He was also fiercely protective of his family and he would do anything for anyone he considered family.
His circle may have been small but it was tight.
In his later years, dad continued tinkering around in his own little shop in Medora before retiring in to
the apartments in Deloraine. This is when he started to connect with his brothers and sister better and
would join them for coffee and visits regularly.
Dad passed away with his children by his side on December 28, 2023, after a short hospital stay in
Brandon Regional Health Centre.
