Dorothy (Dot) Miller passed away peacefully in her sleep July 6, 2021 with her family at her side at Tri-Lake Health Centre, Killarney, Manitoba at the age of 90 years.

 

Mom was born on July 27, 1930 to Alex and Pearl Rankin (Chapman) in the Oak Ridge district.  Mom had four brothers and one sister.

 

She attended Oak Ridge district school and Killarney school.  She worked various jobs, telephone operator in Killarney, Merves Lakeside service and Lakeview Gardens where she made many life long friends.

In 1950 she met James Miller and they were married on April 15, 1954.  On February 9, 1956 she had twin boys Darryl and Donald, six years later, she had Kenneth, December 3, 1961.  They farmed in the Lena area before moving to Killarney in 1973.

They enjoyed travelling to Texas, Arizona, Mexico, Victoria, the East coast, Hawaii and they also took various bus tours.

Mom had numerous interests such as curling, golfing, gardening, gambling, bingo as well as her grandson Colton's hockey and many more hobbies where she once again made many friends.

In 2016 she moved to Johnson Terrace apartment where  she spread her love and joy once again and made many great friends.

Mom was predeceased by her parents Alex and Pearl, brothers Moe, Clare, John, and George as well as sister Marg and their spouses ~  Joyce, Lois, Norma, and Brian.  As well as daughter-in-law Beth.

Dot leaves to mourn her sons Darryl, Donald, Ken & (Lori), with grandsons Matthew and Colten, as well a sister in law Ede and Ellenor plus numerous nieces and nephews.
