Annie Fay Adamson, born on May 13, 1936, in Deloraine, Manitoba, was the beloved third daughter of David and Mary McKee. Raised in the Winchester municipality, she received her education at Mountainside School. Early in her life, Fay worked as a nanny in Goodlands for Harold and Joyce Adams and later at Boissevain Memorial Hospital.

On June 2, 1956, Fay married John Adamson, the only son of Thomas and Christina Adamson. Together, they resided on the family farm, where they both farmed and drove a feeder school bus. They were blessed with two children: a daughter, Darlene, and a son, Darvin.

In 1976, Fay and her children moved to Boissevain, where she found companionship with Gilbert Dougall. Fay worked at various local businesses, including Highway Lunch, Robinsons Store, The Garden Motel, and Wentles Furniture & Sears. In 1980, after completing a Healthcare Aide course at Assiniboine Community College, Fay began her long and fulfilling career at Westview Lodge, where she found her true calling working with the elderly.

Fay was an active and proud member of the community. She was involved with the Legion Ladies Auxiliary, the United Church, Red Hat Ladies, and TOPS. She also served as a Sunday school teacher and camp counselor at Rock Lake Bible Camp.

Together with Gib, Fay traveled extensively, visiting places across Canada from coast to coast, including Churchill and the Northwest Territories. Their adventures also took them to Hawaii, Disneyland, Disney World, the Florida Keys, Texas, Arizona, Mexico, and Europe.

Fay lived life with joy, embracing each moment to the fullest. She found happiness in the simple pleasures of dancing, camping, gardening, knitting, and playing cards and board games. Her greatest joy, however, came from the time she spent with her family and friends. Fay cherished every moment surrounded by her loved ones, creating countless memories with them. Her three grandchildren, Patti, Chelsea, and TJ, held a special place in her heart, and she found immense happiness in being their grandmother.

Fay will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those who were fortunate enough to share in her vibrant and love-filled life.

Left to mourn her memory are her children Darlene (Mark) and Darvin (Andrea), grandchildren Patti (Marc), Chelsea (Daniel), and T.J. (Mercedes) great grandchildren Leo, Levi, Lyla, Ellie, James and Lily, her sibling, cousins, nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.  Fay was predeceased by her partner Gilbert Dougall

A celebration of her life will be held on Sept 20th, 2024 at St Paul's United Church, Boissevain, with Rev Doug Neufeld officiating the service.
Pallbearers will be six nephews: Wesley McKee, David McKee, Jason McKee, Tim Challner, David Challner and Glen Lowry.
Interment will take place at Boissevain Cemetery.
