Mom was born August 26, 1937, at Holland, Manitoba.  She passed away at Carberry Personal Care Home just 6 days after the love of her life, Art.
Mom grew up on a farm near Cypress River, Manitoba.  Attending and graduating Cypress River High School in 1955.  She worked at Manitoba Telephone System in Cypress Rier before attending Normal School Teachers College (1955-1958).  After accepting an offer, she started teaching at Fairdale School in 1958.  She room and boarded at the Maynard Farm.  This led to her meeting Art which led to their 65 year marriage.
They moved to Treherne to farm for a couple of years, returning to Killarney where mom taught at Wakapa.  Once the school closed mom started at the Manitoba Telephone System in Killarney where she could quickly recall anyone’s phone number if we asked her for it.  She started work at Tri-Lake Health Centre in the front office looking after bookkeeping and Medical Records from 1976-1997.  She retired in August 1997, but not wanting to sit idle she volunteered at the Day Care in Killarney as well as the United Church thrift store and gardening.
She had a love of ceramics and sewing many of our outfits and barbie doll clothes.  She and Dad moved to Carberry in 2017 to be closer to family.  She resided in Carberry Personal Care Home since 2018.  Many thanks to the staff for the compassionate care.
Mom was predeceased by her parents, Olive and Leslie and stepfather Arnold Schendel.
She leaves to mourn her brother Ken (Myrt) and sister Carole (Daryl), her children Brian (Linda), Karen (Lorne) and Kolleen (Don), grandchildren Garrett (Marlee), Callie (Mike), Karissa (Aaron) and Braedon, as well as great grandchildren Bentley, Mylah, Taylor, Brook and Reid.
