With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jessie Winnifred Fisher (nee McGowan) on
October 9, 2025 at the Boissevain Health Centre, Boissevain, Manitoba. Jessie is survived by and leaves
to mourn her special friend, Howard Dalrymple, sisters Shirley McMillan, Vivian (Jim) Melvin, Mildred
Mudge and sister-in-law Lily McGowan as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jessie
is predeceased by her parents, Edward and Iva McGowan, her brothers Bernard, Bruce and Brian as well
as in-laws Dennis McMillan, Donna McGowan and Larry Mudge.
Jessie was born on February 9, 1937, the fourth of seven children in the McGowan family. Jessie was
raised in Cartwright, Manitoba and made her adult and retirement home in Boissevain, Manitoba where
she also began and retired from a dedicated career with MTS (Manitoba Telephone System). Always
active, Jessie enjoyed many activities including maintaining her yard in town, enjoying her cottage at
Rock Lake, Manitoba, camping, playing cards, Chinese checkers, dancing, and travelling. A lively
conversationalist, always up for a good laugh, and fun to be around, Jessie made many friends and
memories that will be cherished by all those who knew her.
