John Tschetter, 103, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025. He was born on February 1, 1922, in Grigorjewka, South Russia, to his parents John and Sarah Tschetter.

John later made his way to Canada, where he built a life rooted in hard work, family, and community. On June 27, 1948, he married the love of his life, Margaret Rempel, in Holmfield. Together they shared 76 wonderful years of marriage and welcomed their son, David, in 1960. David later married Kathy (Welsh) in 1982, and John took great pride in becoming Grandpa to his granddaughters, Christie and Kailey, and Great Grandpa to Rylee, Gracie, Bowden, and Vayda.

John spent many years living on the family farm, a place that reflected his strong work ethic and deep love for animals. In 2002, John and Margaret moved into Killarney, where he continued to enjoy visiting with family and friends.

Known for his quick wit, and great sense of humor, John was also incredibly kind and loving. He was a huge animal lover and truly enjoyed spending time chatting with those around him. His stories, laughter, and warm presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

John was predeceased by his beloved wife of 76 years, Margaret, in the spring of 2025, and by his son, David, in 2021.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Bayside Personal Care Home for their compassion and attentive care.
