Kenneth Cornelius Klassen was born August 20, 1952 to John and Mary Klassen in Namaka, Alberta. The youngest of four siblings, Ken and his family lived in Alberta for several years before relocating to Killarney, MB where Dad grew up and eventually met his beloved wife, Brenda. The two married June 21, 1975 and would welcome their three children, Kevin, Mylan and Amanda, over the next decade. While Dad worked on the family farm with his father, John, and eventually on his own, he was often working in construction; as an electrician assistant with his friend, Keith Kemp; on pole barns with Ervin Buhler and later his son, Mylan; and eventually the seed plant with Vic Martens and Don Doerksen over the years. Ken was actively involved in his community through the Westoba board and church volunteerism or lending a hand to friends and neighbors. You could often see he and Brenda enjoying Saturday breakfasts with longtime friends and later weekly coffee visits with the guys. He was predeceased by his parents, sister Carol Taggart, brother in law Bruce Taggart, and dearly loved wife, Brenda. Ken is survived by his brother, Bob (Val) Klassen and sister, Marge (Schuyler) Woods, their families, as well as Carol and Bruce's children, Denise (Ron) Kehler and Dennis Taggart. He will be deeply missed by his children: Kevin (Christy) Klassen, Mylan (Lisa) Klassen, and Amanda (Kyle) White and his nine grandchildren.
