Lois J. Creith (Esler) passed away peacefully on November 10, 2023 at Rock Lake Personal Care Home in Pilot Mound, MB.

Lois was born on December 2, 1935 to Wm J, and Jennie Mae Esler (Thompson), and grew up in the Silver Springs District with brothers Roy, Keith, Ken, Elwood, Murray and sister Alice

In 1955, Lois married Robert Creith and they enjoyed 50 years of marriage. Lois and Robert had two children. Gary, Lori and one grandson, Gerrit. Lois and Robert thought the world of Gerrit and loved to spend time with him.

Although Lois started her working career as a teacher, once her children were in school, she began working along side Robert at La Riviere Credit Union where they remained until the early 1990's.

Two things motivated Lois everyday. Family was number one in her life, organizing and hosting numerous family reunions and travelling great distances to celebrate special occasions with loved ones. Every member of the family received a card, letter or gift from Auntie Lois acknowledging each milestone in their lives.

Volunteering in and around her community was her second motivator. Lois believed volunteering was essential to keep our smaller communities thriving. The United Church of Canada, the La Riviere Recreation Centre, and health care were very important to Lois. The list of organizations that she chose to give her time is lengthy, involving local, regional, Provincial and National entities. Lois was celebrated as a well-deserved recipient of the Manitoba Honour 150 Award for outstanding accomplishments within the community.

Lois leaves her children, Gary and Wanda-Lynn Creith, Lori Maxwell, grandson Gerrit Maxwell and his sisters Angela and Megan and their families. As well as brother-in-law Roy McLaren, sister-in-law Marian Watt, numerous nieces, nephews, greats and great-greats.

Lois was predeceased by her parents, her husband Robert, son-in-law Ross Maxwell, her six siblings, her in-laws, one nephew and two nieces.

A family Celebration of Life will take place on December 3, 2023.

Donations in Lois' memory may be sent to:
