We are saddened to announce that Margaret Rose Gibson (nee Crossman) passed away June 22nd, 2025 - at the age of 94.  She is survived by her son Kim (Rory), grandson Christopher and granddaughter Nicole, son Owen, step grandchildren Derrick, Grant, and Ryan McGorman , daughter-in-law Jane Gibson, grandson Patrick, sister-in-law Lorraine Crossman and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband Harry (1989), son Terry (2018), and daughter in-law Debbie (2022).
Margaret was born on December 14th, 1930 and was raised on the family farm southwest of Pierson, MB. She completed her education at Butterfield and Pierson schools.  She started her career at the Royal Bank in Pierson and transferred to the Melita Royal commuting home on the weekends on the train.  One of her coworkers, Jessie Gibson, introduced her to her brother Harry.  Margaret and Harry married on December 6th, 1952. They lived on the Gibson home farm near Waskada where they raised their three sons.
Harry passed suddenly in 1989, and she moved to Melita and later to Brandon in 1995.
Margaret was a Tomboy growing up with her sister and two brothers loving to ride her horse. As a farm wife she always had a large garden and lots of livestock.  She could whip up a meal in no time to feed her family or for anyone that dropped in.  She loved her dogs and enjoyed looking after foster dogs in Brandon. Such was her love of dogs that she would reuse old dog calendars, crossing out the dates with a marker so she could still have the pictures on the wall. This was one of her little eccentricities that went along with her quick, dry wit, a wit she kept until the end. Her kindness and stability in the face of hardship will be greatly missed.
We are very thankful for the long life she had and the dedicated and caring staff at the Dinsdale personal care home in Brandon.
Flowers are gratefully declined; instead, donations in her name can be made to Funds for Furry Friends or the Brandon Humane Society.
There will be a family service at a later date.
