Myrtle passed away peacefully at home in the Rock Lake Personal Care Home, Pilot Mound, on November 29, 2010. She was born May 6th, 1923 in Londesboro District, RM of Louise, the only daughter of Ed and Ida McLean. She would spend the first twenty years of her life there. On July 12, 1943, she married Albert Hughson and in 1947 they built their home on Gordon Avenue in Pilot Mound, where they would raise a daughter Ida and a son Brian. Myrtle lived in this home until 2006
when she became a resident of the Rock Lake Personal Care Home and room 18 became her new home and the staff her extended family. Myrtle was a "stay at home Mom" until after her children were grown,
when she began her employment with Prairie View Lodge and Personal Care Home. She worked in dietary, housekeeping and activity
departments and thoroughly enjoyed the years there. She worked until 1983 when she decided to retire with her husband so they would have time to spend together. Retirement allowed them to take some small
trips and one very special trip to Hawaii which she loved. She also loved her weekly bingo with her best friend and her morning coffee and conversation with all her girl friends.
Myrtle was happiest keeping her home immaculately clean, sewing, knitting and spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren and later her great grandchildren. Myrtle was predeceased by Albert, her husband of fifty years, her
older brother Alex McLean, her son-in-law, Alvin Cudmore, and her granddaughter Brenda Heard [Cudmore]. Remaining to celebrate and remember her life are her son, Brian Hughson [Lorna] and daughter Ida Cudmore, her grandsons: Curtis Hughson [Chelsea], Bradley Cudmore [Faye], her granddaughter Joyce [Ike Reimer] and grandson-in-law Geoffery Heard; Great grandchildren: Devin Reimer [Melissa], Bryan Reimer, and Calin Reimer [Angelia],
Amanda and Ryan Devloo, Christine and Tim Suderman, Riley and Patricia Cudmore, Chelsea Pearce and Bret Pearce and her Great-great grandchildren: Dylan, Hayley, Hannah, Taylor, Emma, Braden, Lucas and
Drake. She is also survived by her brother Milton McLean [Kae] and her sister-in-law Olive McLean, as well as nieces and nephews.
