He was predeceased by his son Douglas.

It is with sadness we announce the passing of Neil John McLean aged 84yrs at Pembina Manitou Health Centre on April 19, 2021.  Neil was born in Manitou on October 13, 1936.  He obtained his education at the Kaleida School and farmed with his parents George and Annie McLean, then later with his son Jack.  He was proud to have 100 year Farming Certificates for both his mother and father’s farms. Neil spent the winter of 1957 in Ontario working for a plumbing company. As well he worked two winters driving the Co-op fuel truck in Manitou but farming was his love. Neil and Barb were grain farmers and raised cattle, pigs and sheep for over 41 years.  He spent hours hunting, fishing and curling for many years with good friends, the social aspect being the most important part. He also very much enjoyed the cabin at Pelican Lake since 1974 where the younger generation now enjoys spending time. Family always came first with Neil. He was known for his big smile and that twinkle in his eye as well as his love to visit.

Neil was predeceased by his parents George and Annie, sister Donna and son Douglas.

Neil is survived by his wife of 62 years Barb, son Jack (Wendy) and children Kellie (Tom) Nichol – Morgan, Logan & Landon.  Ryan – Kayleigh & Emilee.  Brett (Chandra). Garret (Elyse) – Huntley & Archer. Son Keith (Angie) and children Mercedes (Brett) Janz – Brooks. Kelsen (Kendall). Son Greg (Jodi) and sons Cole(Sydney) & Griffen (Chloe).
