Olina Agnes "Joy" Hagyard(nee Stadfeld)
May 22, 1932-July 19.2021
(age 89)

It is with great sadness that Joy's family announces her passing. She was predeceased by her husband Mervin in 2008. She will be sadly missed by her four daughters; Heather Blue(Brad), Carol Kozak, Kim Morrow(Trevor), and Karin Montgomery. She was dearly loved by her Eleven Grandchildren; Barrett(Amber), Kelsey(Tyler), Breanna(Shane) Blue, Katrina(Jack), Jaclyn, Jolene(Matt), & Jared(Aliana) Kozak, Amanda(Greg), Kyler(Julia) Morrow, Liam & Kyra Montgomery. She is also survived by 10 Great Grandchildren: Diesel, Rheo, Kimber, Cashton, Ella, Jayda, Leena, Toria, Joseph & Quinn, Grammy just loved all her Grands & Greats,... the "Lights" of her Life!!
Mom grew up on a farm in Fisher Branch, She was the oldest of Eleven children. Two brothers, Barry & Ray Stadfeld. Eight sisters; June Hock, Shirley Malkowich, Sharron Campbell(Lloyd), Irene Dubs,(Rolf), Lynda Baker(Ron), Laverne McLaren, Dawn Cyr  and the late Marilyn O'Neill. Mom's siblings and many nieces & nephews  were all very special to her and they were all so good to her!!
Mom went to Winnipeg to finish Grade 12 and obtain a teaching certificate. She had fond memories of teaching in a small school house in Fisherton. She  then moved back to Winnipeg and worked at Misericordia Hospital and Karr's Drugstore, She met Dad and they married July 21, 1956. We lived in East Kildonan and mom worked as a Bookkeeper at Graham furniture for years!. Our family moved to LaRiviere in 1977, where Mom & Dad ran Valley Foods. Mom then went to work as a Bookkeeper for Sterling Truck & Implements in Pilot Mound. Mom & Dad moved to Morden in 1991 where Grammy ran a Daycare for her Grands for several years until they moved back to LaRiviere where they enjoyed many Volunteer activities; caring for town Flowers, Eastern Star & the Red Hat Ladies. They retired to Winnipeg in 2007. Mom moved back to Morden, then Pilot Mound after Dad passed. She enjoyed her little "Norquay" house and then Prairie View Lodge. She was given the Best care here and our Family is so Grateful for such personal special care she received,.... and we received in her final hours.
Mom enjoyed our family cabin at Lee River for many years, then a cabin at Rock Lake. They didn't hesitate to haul all us girls out and our friends for fun times waterskiing, boating and swimming. Mom instilled a very strong work ethic in us all and stressed the importance of education. She taught us all to be very strong independent individuals. She loved to watch ball and curling. She loved Elvis & Johnny Cash, listening to the birds, Haw's Lemon Chicken and a nice glass of wine! She lived a very full happy life and will be dearly missed by many,
She has requested a Private Family Graveside Service. The Service will be recorded and the Link will follow.  In Lieu of Flowers, please make a Donation to Prairie View Lodge Foundation, 424 Broadway Ave, Pilot Mound, Manitoba R0G1P0 or the Pembina Valley Humane Society, 462 Jefferson St. Morden, Manitoba R6M 0C3.... or plant a Tree in Memory of Grammy.

When I come to the end of the road,
And the sun has set for me,
I want no rites in the gloom-filled room,
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little, but not too long
And not with your head bowed low,
Remember how I loved you all,
Miss me, but let me go.
For this is a journey we must all make
And I must go alone,
It’s part of the master’s plan,
A step on the road to home.
So when you are lonely and sick at heart
Go to the friends you know,
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds
Miss me ~ But let me go.
