RUTH ANNE DOW-CLARKE
October 30,1957- August 25,2024
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the
peaceful passing of Anne Dow-Clarke on August 25, 2024. She was a
loving and devoted wife of 44 years to Stephen Clarke, a caring and
supportive mom to Meaghan Clarke-Pinard (Matt) and Abigail Vaugeois
(Sean) and nana to Madeleine Anne Pinard. She was a dedicated canine
parent to her beloved Airedale terrier “Angel” Roxie. She was a loyal
sibling to Edward Dow (Marielle) and aunt to Sophie Dow. Anne was
predeceased by her parents George & Ruth Dow of Killarney, Manitoba.
Anne was a lifelong learner and a dedicated nurse whose career
spanned over four decades. She earned her Bachelor of Nursing from
the University of Manitoba in 1979 and went on to achieve a Master of
Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix in 2000. Anne’s
distinguished career included roles at Children’s Emergency at the
Health Science Centre in Winnipeg, Community Public Health for the
Province of Manitoba, and in Fort McMurray, Alberta. Later, she served
as the Occupational Health Manager for Syncrude Canada and as the
Rehabilitation Coordinator for Imperial Oil Canada.
Anne was a woman of great fortitude and strength and she was able to
live life with Cancer for 21 years. Her motto was “You don’t know how
strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have”. She was
a beacon of love, companionship and loyalty to her family and friends,
serving them tirelessly with a tremendous sense of humour and an
infectious laugh. She had a giant heart and the humility and desire to
help those who needed any type of support. Her loss will be deeply felt
by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
As we mourn the loss of Anne, we also celebrate the impact she had on
our lives and the world around her. We extend our sympathies to all
who are grieving her loss. Anne, you will be deeply missed, but your
legacy will live on forever.
A celebration of Anne’s life will be held at the Woodcliff United Church
in Calgary on September 27,2024 at 1:00 pm.
A private Celebration of Life will be held in her beloved home town of
Killarney Manitoba in Spring 2025 for family and invited guests.
