Susan was predeceased by her husband Donald, son Dale, grandson Brendan, parents Henry and Katherine Klassen (Falk), brothers Dave and Cornie, and many in-laws.
Susan was born in Rosenfeld, MB on December 14, 1936, where she lived the first few years of her life. In 1937, Susan and her family moved to a farm near Crystal City. In October 1940, a chimney fire destroyed their home. She remembers her Dad going back into the house to get his wallet and hoping he would get her doll, but barely making it out before the house collapsed. Susan lived on several farms in the Mather area where she attended Howard and Graham schools. In 1945, the family relocated again to a farm south of Cartwright where she attended Mylor School. Susan played baseball on field days at school playing first base and catching the ball with no glove and got many runners out. This is where her enthusiasm for baseball began.
On May 2, 1959, Susan married Donald Heinrichs and purchased a farm south of Clearwater where they cattle and grain farmed. Here she kept busy raising children, gardening, and helping on the farm. Susan always made time for family, bringing them to 4-H, hockey, curling, baseball, figure skating, and playing many games with them.
Susan was very passionate about her Clearwater community. In her eyes Clearwater was the best place to be. Here she volunteered many hours, helping where needed, whether it be working a shift, organizing events, or donating food. If there was anything happening in Clearwater you would likely see Susan there.
In 2003 Don and Susan moved a house into Clearwater and Susan considered this her official retirement. In 2020, Susan decided to make the big move from Clearwater to Parkview Lodge in Crystal City. Soon new friends were made which became her “Lodge Family” and “Crystal City Coffee Group”. She was excited to participate in the lodge outings, the daily activities, and the many events they did together.
Going to church and to bible study were an important part of Susan’s life. Her faith guided her throughout her life in good times and in times of need. She cherished the fellowship, prayers, and support she received.
Our heartfelt thanks to the ambulance attendants and to the staff at Saint Boniface Hospital for the exceptional care provided for Susan and support provided to her family.
